Cedric Thomas is the Vice President and General Manager at Cox Media Group (CMG) Charlotte, overseeing the ABC affiliate, WSOC-TV; Independent station, WAXN-TV; and Telemundo Charlotte. He is responsible for managing all aspects of CMG Charlotte including news ratings, sales revenue, and digital efforts.
Prior to taking this role in 2017, Cedric spent 6 years in Pittsburgh as Director of Sales at CMG owned WPXI-TV. He began his broadcast career in Steubenville, Ohio at WTOV and was promoted to Operations Manager, overseeing programming, commercial production and news promotions.
Cedric is proud to be involved in his community. He is an active board member for The University of North Carolina Hussman School of Journalism and Media and Goodwill Industries of the Southern Piedmont. Cedric is also on the Board of Governors for the ABC network, North Carolina Association of Broadcasters and NABPAC Board of Trustees.
Cedric was born in Cleveland, Ohio and is a graduate of The University of Akron with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Mass Media Communications. He is also a proud graduate of NAB’s Broadcast Leadership Program and the McKinsey Executive Leadership Program. He is married and has four children.
